Windy weekend sport
There was windy weather for the weekend’s baseball and softball competition on Saturday the 15th of October. The baseball juniors started the day with the Road Runners versing the Tigers.Tigers starting with only 7 players went into bat first scoring 7 across.Shane Morton and Callen Holtham were both on with Daniel Vines bringing them home with a nice hit to left field. Roadies Ewan Preiss was doing well in the middle with the Scott brothers Jackson and JJ having safe hits. Tigers had the stronger side of the two teams, this saw them score 4 more in the third. However the Roadies were not going down without a fight, their last at batter was Ethan Powell having a nice hit out to centrefield. Unfortunately with the lead already had by the Tigers the Roadies were unable to make up, this saw the Tigers take the win 12- 8. Whyalla baseball and softball kicked off last weekend on Saturday with the Juniors starting the 2016 – 2017 season.Both sides, the Indians and the Road Runners have new players mixing in and playing alongside the regulars.
